The CAM Walker is ideal for early ambulation (walking) of patients after a fracture or surgery. Controlled Ankle Movement (CAM) walkers prevent or limit ankle or foot movement after a serious sprain, surgery, or removal of a cast. The CAM walker can also be used by patients with foot ulcers to keep pressure off an ulcerated area on the foot. It allows minimal or no movement of the hinges of your ankle in order to protect the damaged area until the CAM walker can be removed.
